well summer is officially over. The summer dresses are hung back up, The big hats are being put away in your custom Louis Vuitton Hat box, and the fascinators you wore to Ascot are being placed carefully back in the top dressing table draw. So it is perfect time to start looking at this seasons must have trends and pieces. Autumn is one of the most creative seasons. So what should we all be looking out for this season. I've selected a small collection of key piece trends to start you off for the autumn. Its not quite winter yet, so there is no need to start thinking about what sunglasses you are going to go with your Dior ski boots. Trends to look out for. - Classy Check - Couture Style & Ornate Print - fringe - fur - Geometric Print - jumper & Skirt Combinations/Strong Tailored Pieces Classy Check Mixing and matching check with similar and different patterns is a new and fresh trend. A lot of designers have been experimenting with this concept. Mixing Check with stripes and leopard print has been a look that can be quite successful when done right. Large and statement checks have been seen on this seasons runways aswell. Take for example the Chanel Two piece jacket and suit, this look is ultra sophisticated as well as a bold statement. Fringe If 50 Shades Of Grey taught us anything it was that tassels can never be a bad thing. Some of the designers have caught on to this trend. We've seen tassels and fringe done a thousand times, but this time around fringe and tassels are used in a completely new sparkling and zippy way. Designers are using them in varied ways. Balmain for example are using fringe in a dominate way in some of their garments. Check out their orange dress piece. Its to die for! Whilst other designers are using fringe subtly such as Lavin with the use of feathers entwined into a coat. Couture Style & Ornate PrintThe prints this season and so beautiful and there is such a large selection of different styles and designs. There truly is something for everyone. A mixture of old middle age prints and more ornate and embroiled prints have been used this season. A lot of the prints and detailing can be used in both ready to wear and Couture Pieces. These Couture inspired prints make some of the pieces really extra special and have a one of kind feel that will stay in your wardrobe. For instance the Elie Saab Ruby dress is a mix of Couture meets easy to wear. The Lavin Coat has some amazing adorned embroidery featured, Fur... Fur... Fur...!!!! If Cruella De'Vil taught us anything it is that fur is a serious business and must be obtained by any means. "I mean darling...I live for fur, I worship fur. After all, is there a woman in all this wretched world who doesn't? I love fur in Autumn, it really is a must have material and there are some glorious pieces that anyone would hunt through the English countryside with Cruella De'Vil for. My personal favorite piece is the Blue cape by kenzo. I think it so bold and captivating. I also like the Balmain fur sleeve jacket. Hermes' has a beautiful tailored piece jacket that is very smart and creates a very uptown girl look. Geometric Prints Fractal geometry is everywhere, even in lines drawn in the sand. It's the cycle of life... You see fractals in plants, in flowers. Within the human lung are branches within branches. Geometric prints are the staple piece trend this season. Bright colours and amazing shaped prints could not be missed from the back row at fashion week this season. If you want to make a impression and create a impact geometric prints are the way to go this season. Salvatore Ferragamo, Dior and Emilio Pucci are the winners of setting this trend. There are some really strong pieces especially the Salvatore Ferragamo statement piece fur coat. Its such a stand out piece. Beautiful colours , perfectly constructed prints, it really is one the key pieces throughout all the collections. Jumper Combos I love a jumper and skirt combo. Its so easy to do, its classic and its makes mixing and matching so easy. It is a look that really can not go wrong. All you need is a lightweight Knit, a good skirt and a Micheal Kors belt to tie everything together. A Tea length or A line skirt makes a great silhouette for a jumper combination. Salvatore Ferragamo has a created a great look with a knitted and skirt and a knitted roll neck jumper cape. Its a fabulous combination and jersey fabric skirts can be a great material to work with when trying to create this trend. I also adore the Acne Studio Tea Length skirt, a work of art indeed.
