For the Spring Summer 18 season I was rather busy with midyear award season and theatre season full in swing I had a lot of clientèle booked so I was in and out of shows and stores through out fashion week. I was running through the streets and cobbles a lot more then usual going from clients to shows. I certainly had to carry my gentleman's handkerchief to make sure my face was not sweaty. I had to be matt of course. But the collections were worth the extra work out of running around. Here is a few of my highlights BORA ASKU The collection showed strong inspiration based on a modern day doll house. Showcasing short play dresses for the everyday women. Blending a strong contrast of darker colours Matching elongated dresses with ribbon bows show a collection which is wearable and stylishly "cute" for the modern day dolls. SABINNA The collection had fun overlay textured fabrics that Sabinna has now made a signature feature in their collections. Strong tailored pieces, large floral and striking crop cut trousers all featured in the collection. I found the pieces very smart and playing with the idea of relaxed workwear with a edge. The collection was very playful and strong tailoring was a stand out feature in the collection. HOUSE OF MEA The house of eastern couture style knocked it out the park and broke the mould in the SS collection. Featuring translucent bodice pieces. using ruffles, features mixed with oversized shoulder padded gowns. The collection was had a sense of eastern couture S&M feel as it blended leather with wire underskirts and hexagon silhouettes dominated the runway. ZEYNAP KARTAL One of my favourite designers of the last few seasons. This Turkish designer has proven she is the queen of evening-wear. Showing a range of gowns that oozed classic glamour and sophistication. Lightweight fabrics in solid pastel shades created the ultimate summer must haves in the evening circuit. I'm sure we will see these pieces on the red carpets very soon. The Glitter finale dress was certainly one to be kept till last as your breath was held from its beauty and craftsmanship. TEATUM JONES For their latest collection they explored fashion and disability, dedicating their collection to Natasha Baker, the British Paralympic dressage rider and 11-time gold medalist. There were long, flowing silhouettes, loose tailoring and figure-hugging knits done in a feminine palette of mints, pastel pinks and baby blues. The design house cast models of different sizes and ethnicity in the show, as well as a number of models with disabilities This bringing the conversation of diversity in the fashion industry to the forefront. XIAO LI The collection showed a bold colour palette of pink, blue, red and white, strong silhouettes were meet with mesh and organza revealing the female form. Over exaggerated bows and ribbons on both clothing and footwear alter the gaze, distorting the fluidity of the female body’s natural form. The transparent materials echo the message of invisibility and uniformity of a robot, rejecting individuality and reducing to a body instead of a personality. Waistlines are accentuated with precise tailoring, and further magnified with puff sleeves and A-line skirts. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS SWEDISH HOUSE OF TEXTILES SS18 VIN + OMI RUE St- Shoes Spring Summer 18

I had saw some great shows last season at fashion week I certainly had some highlights. A very varied selection of collections from the seasons showcased designers. Neon sportswear, loud pink based street couture and distressed printed denim were all some of the highlights for me, Collections that stood out to me were Rohmir with their Spanish theme anniversary show. The statement bold frill pieces along with the embossed and embellished flamingo dresses certainly heated up the runway.
Billie Jocobina had a fun and vibrant presentation showing cool and outlandish street wear whilst Sadie Clayton used metalic bodices and corsets to set a whole new bar for ready to wear collections. Other highlights included Faustine Steinmetz Presentation and the wonderful floral pieces from Alice Archer. My outfits for fashion week were alot more classic this seasons. I debuted a few of my Tailoring pieces such as window pane navy check suit, a taupe oversized pleated double breast slim suit and a bomber jacket jointed with a exclusive hand made scarf by Assil Skaiky. I was dressed exclusively by Next during majority of this season. Thank you for the continued support. So I was in my house flicking through my GQ magazine and minding my own business. When I get a phone call from a friend telling me she had just seen me in the Guardian in article about the best dressed on the streets of London fashion week. I freaked the hell out especially when she showed me a picture of the article. I want to thank the Guardian for featuring me and I appreciate it hugely. It takes a lot of effort and preparing into what and who you are going to wear for fashion week so I guess all the hard work paid off. Also it gets my name out there which is great to. Whilst I was on my way inside to the Marques Almeida show I was approached in the street and asked who I was wearing and what my favourite designer was so far at fashion week. I didn't really think much of it at the time. So the online article is below so check out. I would also like to thank Assil Skaiky for the fabulous hand made silk scarves that I wore in the feature. https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/gallery/2017/feb/22/london-fashion-week-street-style-in-pictures Sunglasses: Vinatge
Coat & Bag: River Island Shirt & Shoes: Next Belt: Part of a Zara Trench Coat Scarf: Hand Made Silk by Assil Skaiky Had a blast at fashion week and saw some really great shows and trends. Strong collars and metallic fabrics are certainly coming in next season. . A-COLD-WALL showed off some great metallic pieces. This great new street wear and urban chic brand debuted with a small but statement piece collection. A mixture of gender free pieces. With a show stopping finale. The show was set in a cool warehouse which represented the brand perfectly. PHOEBE ENGLISH Phoebe English is one of my favourite designers to see at fashion week. She always brings something cool, edgy and wearable to the table. This year mens collection presentation she put the boys to work displaying them doing chores around the house as it were... and with natural and military coloured tones. Wide leg trousers and relaxed jackets also featured in the collection. BARBOUR taking much inspiration from the classic archives barbour brought a strong leather collection to Mens Fashion Week. MCCVII _ Twelve o Eight You can not have fashion week without some great kicks and Will.I.am MCCVII brand presentation did not let us down. A mixture of great colours and detailing. Everything from fringe, suede and crocodile skin and studded pumps. .CASELEY HAYFORD lONDON This was a collection certainly not to be missed. Featuring a diverse mixture of woolen fabrics with encrusted and embelished detail. Puffer jackets, relaxed checked blazers were all shown. One piece that stood out for me was the frindged embelished suit. It was the perfect show stopper for the winter season. CHESTER BARRIE Coming from a tailoring background I had to make sure I went to Chester Barrie of course. I have always love to see pieces for the party season and christmas. The tuxedo jackets were especially excpetional this season. Featuring checked tuxedo jackets with classic shawl lapels. and double breasted velvet. It was fine luxury at it;s best. EDWARD CRUTCHLEY The Crutchley had a oriental inspired theme. The fabrics used were speciall selected and the theme flowed seamlessly throughout the collection, Velets mixed with embroidered silks with a street edge ran through the collection. KTZ KTZ the king of street wear broke the mould in this collection. skeleton inspired stitching created the perfect collection. Featuring long line hoodies, kilts cow hoods and corsets and laced skinny trousers. All statment pieces which will wow any cool kid on the streets of shorditch at a moments glace. I have admired the fact the mould is always broken with KTZ and they continue to excited me in every collection. WAN HUNG Wan Hung shined bright this mens fashion week. A great presentation and one not to be missed. Everything that glittered and shone through. Embellished and sequined pieces were mixed with great leathers and stitched embroiled jackets. The strong prints that were rant through the collection defined the essence of what Wan Hung does...... creates a statement that will last through the ages that is wearable and edgy. XIMON LEE After a long day 1 at fashion week I was certainly ready to get back into the swing of things. The weather dreadful this time of year as it normally is. I'm not one to normally wear black but I felt that it was certainly appropriate for day two. So I wore a vintage Andree Elisabeth jacket, H&M drawstring tailored trousers mixed with a long line jersey top all placed underneath my zara overcoat and a vintage burberry belt.
I was rather excited about my accessorises. You can never go wrong with a good bag and pair of gloves. So I was lucky enough to be sent a pair of Dents men's gloves which match my classic black clutch perfectly so I was all set. As a lot of you know I work with Menswear clothing on a day to day basis. So I was really exited to do London Fashion Week Mens this season. I'm always normally rather busy with work around this time of year, but as we know...... FASHION COMES FIRST! ( FCF as I like to call it) So I took my tiered self and made it to Men's Fashion Week., I made sure my closet was ready and organgised and styled some outfits together, threw on some shades and a good pair of boots and made it to the runway! I was really intrigued to see the BFC Space and couldn't wait to see the new Autumn winter collections. I called up the fashion squad and we were ready to hit up the cobbles. DAY 1 The first show I attended was the London College Of Fashion Graduate show. I think it's really important to see young and up and coming designers. We have had some many successful designers come from LCF so I was happy this was the first show I saw. LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION - MENS GRAD SHOW some of my stand out designers were Jooin Yang, Wentao, Shu Yao and Tak Lee. - My highlight of the show was this Shu Yao coat. I thought the use of colour was amazing. My next show was one of the most highly anticipated shows of the season. Topman Design. Always a good highlight and always in the forefront of new and young looks, I attended the show with my dear friend Beccy swan & Alex Guiste from The Young Guidance Online. .The collection showed and mix of cool street wear, Coloured leopard print coats, shimmer glitter jumpers and bold colours and waxed fabrics were all shown during the collection TOPMAN DESIGN After topman we took the car and ran across town to check out the Barbour Presentation. BARBOUR Barbour took inspiration from the archives for their collection, The presentation had a lot of showmanship and set pieces which I certainly appreciated. I always love seeing a Pheobe English presentation. There's always a sense of subtle drama to the presentation. The collections are always presented in a beautiful and creative manner with an artistic and elegant flair. She certainly did not disappoint in this presentation as she put the boys to work to do some house hold chores. Because anything a women can do and man should be able do it too! PHEOBE ENGLISH This collection featured loose coats, hooded jackets and smart folding collars with a relaxed leg profile featured highly. The use of fabric was varied for the collection featuring everything from velvet's, to waxed cottons. The use of colour had a neutral and easy wearable palette including bright navys and dark greens, After a full morning and afternoon of shows. We got a little thirsty and needed time to chill and relax in between shows. As everyone does. I mean its still winter so we all need a little spritz and a pick me up so me and Beccy went across the road and had cocktails and a ciggy in the ME Hotel Radio Roof Top bar. We then went for a dinner then made our way over the Shorditch in the evening. To see the A-Cold-Wall collection runway show, A-COLD-WALL After dinner we went to see street brand A-COLD-WALL.. The brand have a concept of bringing difference worlds together segregated by "class and environment". So we decided to check them out. The collection seemed very much inspired by urban culture with a added sense of cityscape structure using foils and silks. well after a long day of shows the party circuit seemed like a interesting idea...... so keep and eye out for all the gossip on what else we got upto and what other shows came out as PART DEUX is coming soon........ The new year is always a time to reflect and look back. So I thought I would would reflect on last fashion weeks personal highlights and what you are going to see as the designers launch their new Spring Summer collections in stores and to clients. Happy New Year.
